Cute, quick and easy Garbage Pail Kid costume for Halloween! We named our little Garbage Pail Kid, Suzy Poo, but you can easily adapt this to other Garbage Pail Kids. Make it more cute or as gross as you want. We went for CUTE!

Robot Mask with Neopixel Eyes, iPhone Mouth, and Voice Changer

This year for Halloween we decided to make a robot mask for our oldest son. There are a few different electronic components that work together to make the final mask. We used neopixel rings and an arduino to control the eyes, an old iPhone worked as the mouth, and we took apart a cheap voice changer toy to add some more fun.

5 minute cheap and easy rear projection screen

Looking for a new way to decorate for the holidays? This projection screen is great for Halloween, Christmas, New Years, 4th of July, just about any holiday you want to make cooler!

We use this projection screen in our front window at home as well as at my husbands work (makes for a great eye catcher right on main street).

With 5 minutes and a few dollars worth of supplies, this is a great project that really makes holidays and special occasions fun.

Make your own embroidered patches and badges.

We have a home embroidery machine (a Brother SE-400 to be exact) and have had tons of fun embroidering anything that doesn’t have a pulse on it, but when we decided to make some badges and patches for our kids, all of the guides we found required expensive material or die cutters.  We figured there had to be a better (and cheaper) way, so we experimented with easily available and cheap craft store products and found a method to make iron on custom patches/badges (like boy scouts and girl scouts badges).  We made the following video tutorial to help others make these fun patches.
